THE EQUALIZER (1985 – 1989)

the equalizer

Creators: Richard Lindheim, Michael Sloan

Cast: Edward Woodward, Keith Szarabajka, Robert Lansing

Robert McCall (Edward Woodward)  is “The Equalizer”, a private detective with a lot of contacts who is available for hire if you have a problem and you don’t know how to solve it. He has a way of doing things. He has an extensive background and a great training that would put down most thug. McCall has a loyal following of friends to call on, including a selection of law enforcement personnel and ex-Special Forces men. It is  a mixed of espionage, crime drama, and  private eye genres into a wonderful series noir package. He relies on his brains more than his muscles and his plans works like a game of chess. He is a formidable chess player. I remember seeing this series in the 80’s and that one was so cool.  He was in the British army then the CIA hired him, later on he became a private eye. This one lasted 4 years but the writers has done a great job. Great story telling.
