Creator: Leonard Freeman
Cast: Jack Lord, James MacArthur, Kam Fong
One of the best cop show on TV back in the day. The series started by the 2 hour pilot episode espionage Thriller with Chinese spies, and double agent who has some effective but horrendous brainwashing technique. This was a cool ride but totally different then any other series, they were mixing it up big time. I remember this series when I first got in the states In 1977 so I watched even the rerun and thought this is a cool series I think I watched the whole 12 year series. Five-O is a fictional state police agency headed by former Navy officer Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord), who answer only to Governor Paul Jameson ( Richard Denning). Detectives Danny “Danno” Williams (James MacArthur), Chinese-American Chin Ho Kelly (Kam Fong) Who was a Hawaii police officer who turned actor and Zulu as kono a native Hawaiian. McGarett is the leader of this unit and makes reference of his past from tim to time. He is busy catching bad guys back then they put a little of everything, different kind of crimes. Is a matter of fax Jack lord retired after the series ended and stayed in Hawaii until he died. What I love about this series is that Jack Lord was on a boat chasing bad guys and his hair would not move ever. I still love this series. The remake is as good in today’s world, But the original is still the best you get to see how Hawaii was back in the day with the cars and the clothes.
